Working Ranch Vacation

Rocky Mountain Horseback Adventures is associated with Willow Creek Ranch at the Hole-in-the-Wall, a beautiful 57,000 acre private ranch in the spectacular Red Wall country of central Wyoming. The Willow Creek is a traditional working cattle, horse and sheep ranch operating much the way it did over 100 years ago. They have very little modern machinery, preferring to do most ranch work the cowboy way, on horseback. You'll get a taste of real ranch life, working each day with the cowboys. You may drive cattle, ride on round-ups, help brand, or train horses. Or you may ride out on your own, exploring the open country around ranch headquarters. Maybe go on an overnight horseback trip to Butch Cassidy's old camp near the Hole-in-the-Wall. You can avail yourself of practical, qualified riding instructions, or just loaf around the bunkhouse. It's your vacation. Your accommodations will be in the original log bunkhouse built in 1890 and recently refurbished. The bunkhouse features comfortable bedrooms, modern bathrooms, a large kitchen/dining area where hearty family style meals are served, cozy den and a porch with a panoramic vista of the Red Wall. Our season is May through September. Guests arrive and depart at their convenience. Prices are quoted on a per day basis. Transportation to and from Casper airport is provided.
